Here is a list of APIVEO ® lesson topics. Each lesson consists of a lesson goal and a script. The lessons are designed to be presented at the close of the post-practice meeting. After giving specific feedback to your players about the practice, you have the opportunity to present the lesson.
I suggest you hold your post-practice meeting where you are accessible to the parents so they can hear the lesson. This will give them the opportunity to continue the discussion about the lesson during the drive home. It will also clearly demonstrate your focus on their child’s future.
Below, I have listed the lessons to be presented at each practice.
LESSON ONE: Who do we play for and introduction of the team cheer.
LESSON TWO: How do we use our talents and gifts to always play for each other.
LESSON THREE: What is a leader? Who is a leader?
LESSON FOUR: Listening is the starting point of leadership.
LESSON FIVE: The influence of our words. How can our words help or hurt people? Verbal leadership.
LESSON SIX: The influence or our deeds. How can our actions help or hurt people? Action leadership.
LESSON SEVEN: Leadership in action. Coordinate a team food drive for a local shelter or charity.
LESSON EIGHT: Forgiveness is the most powerful leadership opportunity.
LESSON NINE: Forgiving yourself is the most difficult but important step to leadership.
LESSON TEN: What is courage?
